JOB INFORMATION | | Job Title: | Backhaul Coordinator | | Job ID # | K2305 | | Job Family: | Operations | | Reports To Position: | Senior Leadership | | FLSA | | | PRIMARY PURPOSE | | Initially perform operational support responsibilities while developing the knowledge, customer base, lanes, and processes necessary to expand the backhaul program. As the program grows, responsibilities will increasingly focus on revenue generation, lane development, customer acquisition, and strategic growth initiatives. | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS | | | | | |
Identify and secure backhaul freight opportunities to improve equipment utilization, reduce empty miles, and generate incremental revenue. | Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers to support service expectations and expand backhaul freight opportunities. | Evaluate available capacity and customer freight requirements to match profitable backhaul opportunities with fleet needs. | Research and analyze potential backhaul lanes by gathering operational, pricing, and profitability information to support implementation decisions. | Coordinate implementation of new backhaul opportunities by working with Operations, Planning, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders. | Monitor backhaul activity and performance metrics, including revenue contribution, utilization improvements, and service results, and communicate findings to leadership. | Support customer onboarding, issue resolution, and service recovery activities to maintain positive customer relationships and ensure successful freight execution. | Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations related to lane opportunities, customer activity, revenue generation, and backhaul performance. | Maintain accurate customer, pricing, and load information within company systems and ensure documentation is complete and current. | Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities that enhance backhaul utilization, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. | Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives. |
