PRIMARY PURPOSE

Plan and recover loads delayed in transit to restore on time service while supporting drivers through phones and messages during extended hours. Answer calls to the Driver Support Planning number and resolve immediate concerns related to driver and/or customer issues for loads in transit.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Dispatch necessary resources (driver, truck, trailer) to take care of immediate issue.

Monitor loads and resolve issues that may affect the scheduled delivery/pickup times.

Seek out trailer availability and help drivers find the trailer.

Resolve driver issues within authorized limits.

Utilize all available tools, perform planning functions and critical thinking activities to ensure on-time deliveries and improved customer service.

Provide daily summary of shift activity and ensure day shift is aware of changes and are informed of on-going concerns.

Collaborate with designated internal department personnel to resolve customer or driver issues as necessary.

Conduct persuasive discussions with drivers to ensure loads are accepted.

Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Previous experience in transportation required.

Must have strong communication skills.

Must be able to work in high pressure situations.

Must possess strong problem solving skills.
