PRIMARY PURPOSE

Perform analysis to appropriately respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for all LOB's and/or multiple brands under KNX umbrella.    Provide recommendations to maximize profitability focusing on increasing customer diversity and minimizing empty miles.

Organizational Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Assist GM's with pricing national level and high profile market accounts and various projects.

Analyze inbound/outbound market Rates Per Mile (RPM), balance, deadhead, customer mix, seasonality and lane flow.

Analyze current market trends, conditions, economic information and customer pricing for opportunities to increase rates, optimize networks and maximize profitability.

Analyze current market trending against historical trending to identify opportunities to proactively react to non seasonal changes quickly.

Analyze large data sets for risk management, growth and network optimization in both Requests for Proposals (RFP) and historical data sets.

Evaluate customer accessorial and contract terms to minimize those risks and strengthen profitability.

Prepare comprehensive value add rate proposals that effectively account for customer freight and contract characteristics and KNX network needs.

Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations.

Lead process improvement efforts and ensure implementation of improvement causes minimal disruption.

Mentor KNX team members, create and maintain department tools and assist in implementing pricing processes and setting goals.

Effectively interact at all levels of the company including sales, operations as well as with all levels within pricing.

Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objective.

Bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.


Work Experience

Work Experience

3+ years experience in pricing and/or operations required.


Skills and Abilities

Must possess strong analytical skills.

Must be able to adapt to constantly changing markets and company needs.

Must be proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Access.

Must be familiar with specialized software like Business Objects, AS400 query system, bid compiler, pricing rater programs and other pricing tools.

Must be able to mentor others.

Must be able to plan and organize.
