PRIMARY PURPOSE

Assist management with parts control through the performance of daily operations and maintenance of inventory levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Perform inventory control; maintain proper inventory levels by monitoring inventory items to identify high volume parts as well as obsolescence parts. Adhere to standard internal control procedures.

Purchase parts and supplies through the use of Fleet Assist auto-generated and approved low-cost provider procedures. Maintain and update auto-generated parts procedures as necessary.

Monitor and handle parts returns; review warranty tags, store and organize returned parts accordingly and conduct follow up to ensure returned parts are handled appropriately. Collaborate with internal department personnel and outside shippers/vendors as necessary.

Recognize shortages, overages and pricing discrepancies; communicate with appropriate management to facilitate problem resolution and correction of parts ordering.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management, including but not limited to, performing the daily functions required of and filling in for the Parts Manager or Parts Coordinator in their absence.

Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must complete and pass the company's internal Parts Assistant II test checklist.


Work Experience

Work Experience

2+ years experience in parts, preferably in a heavy truck environment.

At least 3 months experience as a Parts Assistant.


Skills and Abilities

Must be fully proficient in looking up parts and placing online orders using all of the O.E. manufacturer websites.

Must posses a valid drivers license.

Must be able to read and understand parts manuals.

Must be successful filling out repair orders and purchase orders.
